“Up up Jesus… down down Satan!”
The “title” came from a co-worker, Casey Wells, during a Spiritual warfare talk during one of our leader trainings. Not going to lie I laughed and thought “how silly” the first time I heard it. I also thought it entertaining as the leaders continued to apply it throughout the leader training. However, I found myself thinking and saying this on the way to Atlanta tonight.
Today was crazy, naturally because it’s a Monday and Spring Break projects are in full swing and my e-mail account had a whole 3 days to build up in my Inbox. Either way… Praise our King of kings and Lord of lord…!
Up up Jesus… down down Satan:
– as I figured out details of my travel to the airport. Went from “park, sleep, n’fly” to only “park n’ fly” because there were no hotel rooms cheap enough back to “park, sleep, n’fly” because the hotel had a room but not I’m having issues canceling my reservation for “park n fly.” Craziness.
– as I bumped into a Project Leader leading in Gainesville who needed more ministries for his group because they had completed everything in a day and half.
– as I was headed home and noticed I need gas.
-as I was printing my boarding passes, directions, hotel reservations etc… and it was of course taking way too long.
– as I was at the stop sign 2 min. from my house and I remember I didn’t pack pajamas (those are important)
– as I was driving down 400 toward Atlanta and this is specifically what I want to share with you!
As I was headed toward Atlanta I felt nervous. Weird I know, I was trying to wrap my finger about why I would be nervous… the conference, I don’t get nervous at them typically so I decided it was probably Satan trying to ruin an amazing God thing. I phoned my friend to pray with me but didn’t share how nervous I was. Then, I called one of my assistants who from the moment I did the interview knew that he was a prayer warrior, but he didn’t pick up. Then, I decided to call my dad and mom! I said, “dad, I’m headed to ATL for CA in the morning and I’m nervous, I don’t know what it is, I don’t know if it’s Satan or what, but will you pray with me!” My dad was honored, and said “now, that I can handle!” As my mom and dad were praying for me over the phone he began praying for safety, I saw debris flying-hitting my vehicle, sparks, and then smoke. All of a sudden there was this car in front of me that was in an accident… the front of the vehicle totally crushed in and smoking, you couldn’t see him because his lights weren’t working. I checked my mirrors was quick to swerve and praise the Lord no one was in that lane. After my dad said “Amen” I said “I know why God wanted us to be praying and told him what happened!”
Shortly after that, my assistant called and asking what’s going on. I shared with him and we praised the Lord for how he protected me! With 20min. left until reaching the hotel, he opted to quickly pray for the rest of the journey. God is so good! I had to share this story with you because I know it was God!
I also want to ask yet again for your continued prayers that the Lord would reign in me as I share the heart of AIM! Praise His Holy and Precious Name! Amen! 🙂
