Hey gang!
This isn’t my newsletter but I wanted to let you know how my first day
was. It started off with heading to the Wellspring office where I did
the ministry of paper pushing. If anyone worked at delta this summer
you probably know what I’m talking about! After that, there was no
delay…my boss Stacy put me straight to work! I had to prep a whole
bunch of stuff for the conference that would happen only a couple hours
later. Praise the Lord I got everything done before Stacy and I had to
head to the Skelton office located on the other side of Gainesville. I
just found out last week that we actually have two office in
Gainesville. One is for people to come to if they have
questions…more in town and better PR. Where the international
headquarters is where training happens for all project leaders, world
race participants etc…this is basically in the boonies of
Gainesville. The majority of the Gainesville staff are located here.
Anyways…today I actually worked from my cubicle for two short hours.
It reminded me of prepping for delta’s staff orientation because I was
creating packets and schedules for all the participants at staff
conference. My cubicle is kind of bare right now but I’m hoping to
work on it after staff conference is over.
Anyways, after getting to the Skelton office I found out that my boss
needed help with making the food for the conference so I went straight
to work. As my dad says “you need to be rigidly flexible” and so I was
cutting up tomatoes, onions, and lettuce for a while before the
conference began. After that we had a really long meeting of just
praying and seeing what God had done over the summer through 160 short
term mission trips. Praise the Lord for the way he worked this
summer. After dinner we broke into small groups and discussed a
handful of things that were addressed in some of the evaluations this
summer. This was my first day so having to weigh in and give voice to
areas in which I have not experienced was very interesting, but I did
it.
After another long meeting which took us till about 9pm I brought one
of my co-workers: Monica who works out of New Orleans to her host home
for the week. The place was so confusing to get to, I had to follow
some people so I would know where she lived the rest of the week. It
is my responsible to pick her up and drop her off at night. We really
connected in the car she was born and raised in Mexico and has the
cutest accent ever! If you think about New Orleans remember Monica
because she was evacuated like everyone else on Saturday along with a
handful of out other STM (Short term mission) staff.
Today I really got to see a lot about AIM. Learn more about AIM and
see the staff’s passions. It really is amazing how passionate these
people are in seeing that we keep offering discipleship training. God
really opened our eyes to see the passion that we all share and that we
are the body of Christ. The only way that this is going to work is by
working and supporting one another. Praise the Lord.
This was only the first day. Now, it’s late and I need to sleep so that
I can start an even longer day of meetings, prayer, worship, fellowship
and laughs. Thank you so much you all for your prayers. I’m here in
Gainesville, GA…I’ve started and I’m praising the King! Being here
and being obedient to God’s call makes my heart want to sing (Chris Tomlin How can I Keep from singing).

Thanks ya’ll!!!! 😉
