When I’m
asked what my earliest memory is I explain it was when I was four on an
Easter Sunday. I was walking
through the door at church holding my mothers hand when I
turned to her and asked
“Mommy I want cwackers and juice, how come I can’t have it?” On
Easter Sunday in 1991, I was
four years old when I understood on a basic level that I was a
sinner and Jesus came, was
crucified and rose again three days later to free me from my sin and
let me have eternal life.
Delta
Lake Bible Conference
Center my home of eighteen years
has had a huge impact
on my relationship with
Christ. My father is the director of this camp and my mom helps in
anyway possible. While
working and attending, I have seen numerous lives changed, and God
has used me to show and tell
my experience of Christ’s love. Five summers ago at Delta
Lake
Bible
Conference Center
was when I was baptized. I believe that I wouldn’t be the person I am
today if God hadn’t provided
me the opportunity of being born into a Christian family growing
up at a Bible camp where I
had many opportunities to learn how to be a servant leader and to
reflect His servant-hood
attitude in my life everyday.
I’ve had an
adventurous four years by going to a local community college where I started
as a nursing student, hated
it and decided that I needed to transfer. The summer prior I had
heard about Toccoa and felt God
leading me there. After a year of community college I transferred
to Toccoa
Falls College
where I am studying in the Christian Education department and
really believe that this is God’s
will.
While
at Toccoa Falls
College I have learned to lean on
God, go to God first, and trust
Him to provide for me.
Through many sleepless nights of papers and tests I have learned to lean
on God to give me the
strength for each day while getting through classes. Without putting
God first in my life and
understanding that that relationship is the most important many of my
other relationships and
activities would have been affected in a negative way. Furthermore, God
has provided me several
times in my three years of being at Toccoa
Falls College
through money
in the mail, letters of
encouragement, a friend, and everyday essentials. It is such an honor for
me to be able to proclaim
how God is active in my life. God has enabled me to live each day
depending and trusting Him
for my needs.
I believe
that I am being obedient to God’s will for me because God has given me
a huge heart for all ages. I
enjoy working with youth and adults. I think that discipling in a one
on one environment or in a
small group is just one of the ways that we can minister to students
and adults to encourage them
in their faith, in quiet time with the Lord, and the pursuit of a
Christ- like life.
