Brothers and Sister in Christ,

I can’t believe it’s time for me to be in Mexico! For a week now I’ve been trying to put my finger around the fact that I’m headed to Mexico!  Not only that, I will be the leader coached by an experienced Project leader and co-worker, Bill Britton.  It took me till the day before yesterday to figure out how I was even getting to the airport!  I’ve been so busy… there has not been enough time to even think about it and my prayer is that it’s not me being lazy.  I’m excited about this trip and want these participants to be going away with a great experience on a short term mission with a long term change in their life.

I can’t do this project without the Lord’s strength and your prayers! Therefore, I’m asking you (my support team) to be praying for me.  Praying for safety, wisdom in certain situations, the weather, the participants, the locals and the ministry.

I understand some of you may be a little worried about me being in  Mexico with all the unrest there right now but our location, The Gateway in Matamoros, Mexico is safe.  The area of the border that we cross between the U.S. and Mexico is very remote and safe.  AIM has built relationships with the border patrol and we get in and out with ease.  If you’d like to watch a clip on the safety issues in Mexico you can go here: http://matamoros.myadventures.org/?filename=aim-rural-mexico-safety-update

I will be doing my best to post on my blog but if I don’t have the time, I encourage you to check out the mission trip reports at: http://www.adventures.org/a/reports/
