Those of you following along thank you.  I had a recruiting trip in NC today and had to leave at 6am to get to the conference in time.  Now I have the time to sit and be with my Creator!  I felt it went great, 3x better then last year and probably one of the most “fruitful” trips out of all my recruiting trips thus far. I don’t feel like I did anything different- I’m pretty sure it was God and your prayers.

Also, today the Lord in His still small voice told me to check up on Chris, the guy I met with on an airplane while on a mission project almost a year ago.  He was glad to hear from me.  Since that time of meeting he’s quit what he was doing (not so good-he wouldn’t even say), gone back to school, is an RA for a dorm, and is attending the local “First Baptist Church.”  I shared what God’s been teaching me lately and it strung a chord in him- apparently things with the dorm have been rough and he had been thinking of quitting, I didn’t know. However, after our short conversation he says he knows the Lord is using him there and he will continue to press on.  Buddies in the dorm asked him if he was quitting and he told them “no!”  He was able to share about our conversation with them…  Please pray that the Lord continues to work in Chris.  Pray he has patience and boldness while working with these guys in the dorm.
Scripture: James 1:19-27
Vs. 22 strung a chord within me today…
It reminded me of one of AIM’s 5 objectives: Listening in Prayer
This is something we emphasize for our participants on project.  To listen to God and act on it- how simple that sounds.  Why… why are we not acting on it… or maybe it’s time isn’t being taken out to listen?

Probing Questions (provided by Max Lucado):
How can you have “ears to hear” God’s Word this week, and then do it?
What pressures does our culture put on us to disobey or disregard God’s Word?
Why do we sometimes find it difficult to listen to the Word and do what we know is right?
In what ways does your life demonstrate to others that you are a Christian?
