I’ve been avoiding cleaning up my computer for months and decided to start the tedious task and while I was doing it I stumbled across this testimony.  This is an adult participant that was on the first mission trip I assisted in leading at the beginning of my adventure with AIM in October 2008.  It’s amazing how God uses challenges, trials, circumstances, and short term missions for His glory!!!

“It was a God day all
day long!”
October 17, 2008
Participant: Donna Ames

What can I say, except that today was a God day all day
long!  It started off at 6 in the
morning when I drank four cups of coffee.
  Today I enjoyed
hanging out with my new Christian family:
the Southside Christian Church crew and Mark from Illinois.  While working in Horizons today it was
awesome to see the group from the Southside Christian church jump right on in
there and begin to interact with the adults.  The adults loved us being there and can’t wait for us to be
back.

While at Debbie’s house I got to see everyone work so well
together. I just love seeing the other side of people.  I also had the best time installing a linoleum floor in the
bathroom with Christy and it turned out so awesome!  I’ll never forget that.

The best part of today though was the prayer walk in the
rain and seeing everyone step out of their comfort zone.  Our church actually does prayer walks,
but we’ve never done prayer walks when you go to peoples houses.  We do more of walking through the
streets.  So, this prayer walk was
new and it was uncomfortable.  Once
I saw my group doing it though, I knew I could do it!

While we were in our groups walking the streets of Harlan, I
recognized this man named Terry.  I
did a double take of course to find out that he was someone that we prayed for
last year during our prayer walk.
We stopped and talked to him.
He told us he never thought he would see us again, but look how God
works.

I’ve had a very awesome God day.   I can feel His presence in everybody.  It’s so cool we were from all over the
United States and could come together, show the honorable side of ourselves. It’s
cool, really cool.

It was a God day all day long!
